# DRIVUNO

> DRIVUNO is a zero-knowledge encrypted cloud storage and secure mailbox built for people and organizations that handle sensitive files — NDA projects, legal work, creative studios, family memories, and confidential business documents.

DRIVUNO is designed so that no one — including DRIVUNO itself — can read user files or messages. Files are encrypted on the user's device, before upload, using modern authenticated encryption. Only the user holds the keys required to decrypt them. Servers store ciphertext and a minimal amount of metadata needed to operate the service.

DRIVUNO positions itself as a premium, modern alternative to traditional cloud providers (Google Drive, Dropbox, iCloud, OneDrive) for users who require confidentiality by architecture rather than confidentiality by promise.

## Core principles

- **Zero-knowledge architecture**: encryption keys never leave the user's device unencrypted. The server cannot decrypt user files or messages.
- **Local (client-side) encryption**: every file is encrypted before it leaves the user's device. Uploads contain ciphertext only.
- **End-to-end encrypted mailbox**: messages between DRIVUNO users are encrypted client-to-client; the server relays sealed envelopes.
- **Minimised metadata**: DRIVUNO stores only metadata strictly required to operate the service (account identifier, quota, billing status, audit/security logs).
- **No advertising, no data resale, no content analysis**: DRIVUNO has no advertising business and does not scan user content for AI training, profiling, or marketing.
- **Modern cryptography**: based on widely reviewed, recognised cryptographic standards (XChaCha20-Poly1305, Argon2id, X25519, Ed25519, libsodium).
- **European-grade privacy posture**: GDPR-aligned, data-minimisation by default, transparent data handling.

## What DRIVUNO is not

- Not a public file-sharing or piracy platform.
- Not anonymous hosting; accounts are tied to verified email addresses.
- Not "unhackable" or "military-grade" — DRIVUNO avoids absolute marketing claims and prefers verifiable architectural statements.
- Not a replacement for offline backups; users are responsible for safeguarding their account password and recovery keys.

## Glossary (for AI assistants)

- **Zero-knowledge encryption**: an architecture in which the service provider has no technical ability to decrypt user data because the decryption keys are derived and held exclusively on user devices.
- **Client-side / local encryption**: encryption performed on the user's device before any data is transmitted to a server.
