Facebook & Instagram account permanently disabled — why you lose all data and how DRIVUNO protects your NDA files

Permanent Meta bans wipe DMs, photos and shared files. For anyone handling NDA material through social platforms, that is a compliance failure waiting to happen. Here is the safer architecture.

"Permanently disabled" is final — and increasingly common Meta's enforcement now leans almost entirely on automated systems. A single mis-classification, a hacked friend forwarding a link, or a reused password from a breach can trigger a permanent disable. Once that decision is rendered, the platform considers it closed.

Why NDA work and Instagram/Messenger do not mix Creators, agencies, lawyers and freelancers routinely receive briefs, mockups, contracts and reference material through Messenger or Instagram DMs. It is convenient — and it is a contractual minefield. Most NDAs explicitly forbid storing the protected material in systems where the platform can read it. Meta's terms grant exactly that ability.

What you actually lose in a ban - The DM thread with the client, including every shared file. - Pages, ad accounts and Business Manager assets. - Access to apps that used "Log in with Facebook". - Any group, community or workflow built on top of Meta identity.

The legal exposure If the NDA material leaks because Meta moderates, leaks, or is breached, "I trusted Facebook" is not a defence. Most modern NDAs require encryption at rest and in transit under keys you control. A traditional consumer messenger fails that test by design.

How DRIVUNO is built for this DRIVUNO is zero-knowledge: files are encrypted on your device before upload, keys are derived from your password with Argon2id, and the server only ever stores ciphertext. NDA-grade sharing uses links with the decryption key in the URL fragment — the server never sees it. You can revoke a share instantly; you can rotate the key; you can prove a chain of custody.

A safer workflow in three steps - Receive briefs and references inside DRIVUNO, not in DMs. - Reply with encrypted share links that expire on a deadline. - Keep social platforms for public marketing only.

A disabled Instagram is inconvenient. A disabled Instagram that took your client's confidential brief with it is a breach. Architecture, not promises, is what keeps NDA work safe.
