Live Clone: how to back up a PC or Mac folder live 24/7, fully encrypted

Point DRIVUNO at a folder or an entire disk. Every change is encrypted on your device and cloned to your vault in real time — no plaintext ever reaches a server.

Three private surfaces. Same zero-knowledge architecture.

The backup problem nobody solves properly Most people back up the way they floss: occasionally, guiltily, and never right before the disaster. Manual uploads depend on memory. Scheduled tools run at 3 a.m. and miss the file you edited at 3:05. And every mainstream sync client — Drive, Dropbox, OneDrive, iCloud — solves the timing problem by handing the provider the keys to your data.

Live Clone is DRIVUNO's answer: continuous replication of the folders you choose, with client-side encryption that never gives us anything but ciphertext.

What Live Clone actually does - You select one folder, several folders, or a whole external disk on your PC or Mac. - DRIVUNO watches those paths continuously while your browser session is open. - Every new file, rename or modification is detected by content hash (SHA-256), not just by timestamp. - Only what changed is encrypted and uploaded — differential, not a full re-upload. - Previous versions are retained, so an overwrite or a ransomware pass never destroys history.

Why "encrypted" here means something different Your file is sealed before it leaves the machine. A fresh symmetric key (XChaCha20-Poly1305) is generated locally for each file and wrapped with your account key (X25519), itself derived from your password through Argon2id. Our servers receive opaque bytes and a wrapped key we cannot open.

That means no AI indexing, no content moderation pipeline, no support tool, no admin override, and nothing readable to hand over under legal pressure. Not policy — architecture.

Who this is for - **Creators and studios** working on NDA projects: PSD, RAW, PRPROJ, 4K rushes, all mirrored as they are saved. - **Freelancers and small firms** who cannot afford a NAS-plus-offsite setup. - **Anyone with one irreplaceable disk**: family photos, archives, thesis work, accounting.

Live Clone vs a normal sync folder A sync folder is bidirectional: delete locally, and the cloud copy usually disappears too. Live Clone is a one-way mirror with version history. A local accident, a corrupted disk or an encryption-based malware attack does not propagate destruction to your vault.

Sharing without breaking the model A cloned folder can be shared read-only, folder by folder, with named recipients. Each recipient's access is delivered as a key envelope sealed to their public key. Remove them, and the remaining keys are rotated. Nothing is broadcast, nothing is public by accident.

Getting started in two minutes 1. Open DRIVUNO on desktop Chrome, Edge, Brave or Opera. 2. Go to Live Clone and link a folder through the native picker. 3. Leave the tab open — the mirror keeps itself current.

Start free with 1 GB, then scale to the plan you need. Your keys stay yours from the first byte.
